Saladero Eco Lodge
Saladero Eco Lodge is nestled between the beautiful green mountains of the Piedras Blancas National Park on the other side of the Golfo Dulce from Puerto Jimenez. Saladero Lodge is rated as one of the best of Costa Rican rainforest specialty lodges – and is only accessible by boat! Saladero Eco Lodge offers a two-story beach house, a tree house, the Mariposa Cabin, a Bungalow, and camping.
The beach house is constructed from beautiful exotic hardwoods and offers unobstructed 360° views of the property and Golfo Dulce. The second story offers open-air lounging with a private king bedroom and bath, a large open living area with additional sleeping area with two queen beds and a guest bath. The living room area with sofa, tables and chairs overlooks the ocean, flora and fauna below. The main kitchen is located on the ground level of the beach house. The beach house can accommodate large groups or families.
The tree house is a private and intimate treetop cabin in the canopy overlooking the Golfo Dulce. The spacious cabin is equipped with a full bath and beautiful hardwood floors. The tree house is fully screened and has a queen bed and a single bed. Electric lighting from a battery and candles. The shower is cold water only (but you would also have access to the hot shower on the front of the beach house).
The Mariposa cabin has one double bed and one single bed, and is totally screened with battery lighting. There is also 30 acres of maintained tropical garden for camping – if you’d like a real outdoor jungle adventure.
We now also offer a new bungalow cabin, which has room for up to 2 people and offers a private bathroom with hot shower.

The Eco Lodge consists of 480 acres and is located within the Piedras Blancas National Park. You will have to arrive by boat – you will be picked up either in Golfito or Puerto Jimenez airport, take a taxi to the town dock, and take a very scenic 30-40 minute boat ride to Saladero Eco Lodge.
For all of our vacation rentals, please inquire for rates as they do vary for holidays and peak times. All rates include taxes & cleaning. Osa Tropical can also make reservations for domestic flights, car rentals, and hotel stays, and we can arrange taxis to make your vacation a breeze!
The Lodge’s electricity is derived from solar power. Solar power is a renewable energy and thus helps to reduce global warming. Please be conservative with your use of energy. Usually the light during the day is sufficient to light up the rooms, as the sun rises at 5 and goes down around 5:30pm-6:00pm. Since the house is not equipped with strong light bulbs or fluorescent lights, you’ll also need to use candles, lanterns, and flashlights. There are also showers with hot water, heated up through solar power.
Please do not bring coffee makers, radios, stereos, hairdryers, and other appliances a typical 120-volt outlet will support. These appliances will drain all of the solar energy, leaving none for basic use. You may bring battery chargers for your video and still cameras. Unplug this appliance when finished charging. We recommend to turn off all lights, fans and other small appliances when not in direct use.
